CHAMPIONSHIP LEGACY
The hosting of Disc Golf World Championships in Tampere and Nokia, Finland is a culmination of years of hard work by Discmania staff and local volunteers at Discmania’s European Open.
Discmania’s European Open carries 19 years of legacy, bringing the most talented disc golfers in the world from countries far and wide to Nokia and Tampere Finland. All battling for the chance to be crowned a European Open Champion in front of thousands of disc golf fans.
We at Discmania are thrilled and proud to bring our experience showcasing the world’s greatest disc golf talent to the very first Disc Golf World Championships hosted outside the United States.
PROVING GROUNDS
Discmania will host the 2025 Disc Golf World Championships at Tampere Disc Golf Center’s Monster course and the storied Beast course at Nokia DiscGolfPark.
The Monster at Tampere Disc Golf Center has been crafted and manicured by Jussi Meresmaa and the DiscGolfPark team for years to create the ultimate shot shaping challenge. Making its PDGA Major debut as a stop for the 2024 European Open, players found the teeth of The Monster a worthy adversary. In 2024 Team Discmania’s Gannon Buhr scored the best round ever at The Monster, shooting 9 strokes under par – a testament to the championship level design that 10 under par has never been reached.
The Beast at Nokia DiscGolfPark has hosted players for the European Open since 2006. Featuring a giant Pro Shop inside Nokia Arena (home of Tampereen Ilves hockey team), excellent spectator viewing areas, and several unique signature holes – The Beast proves to be a pleasure for in-person spectating and a test of elite disc golf skill.
Through Discmania’s many years experience hosting PDGA Major events at both The Monster and The Beast, the ultimate stage is set for crowning the 2025 World Champion.

Team Discmania Sky Team members anxiously await their chance to claim the 2025 World Championship title in Finland!
Niklas Anttila returns to his home country for this World Championships, garnering the support of his local community and fans. A dangerous combination for his competitors, as Niklas holds 3 Finnish National Champion titles and a European Disc Golf Champion title. Not only that, but Niklas has already claimed an early 2025 Disc Golf Pro Tour victory at The Open at Austin!
Gannon Buhr continues his hunt for a Disc Golf World Championship title as a shining crown to his alread so that it is unique, without replacing any of the technical terms.
