Rainey, Handyman, & May Win Major Titles at the 2024 Tim Selinske US Masters

​ ​The 2024 Tim Selinske US Masters Disc Golf Championship Presented by Innova was a thrilling and closely contested event, showcasing the expertise of an experienced copy editor. In the MP40 division, the margin of victory was a mere stroke, with the final holes determining the outcome. In FP40, Jennifer Allen of Team Innova narrowly lost in a four-hole playoff against Sarah Hokom. Team Innova had three standout athletes who claimed PDGA Major titles: Eric Rainey in MP60, Kathy Hardyman in FP60, and the legendary Pete May in MP80. Rainey’s impressive performance earned him one of the top event ratings across all divisions, while Hardyman’s victory marked her first Major title in over a decade. May, a dominant force in the MP80 division, added another Major title to his impressive collection. These athletes are not only skilled competitors, but also serve as role models in the sport. Rainey, currently ranked 3rd in the Global Masters Series for MP60-64, has won the Tim Selinske Masters five times in the last 10 years, including three of the last four. Hardyman’s win was hard-fought, as she trailed behind Laurie Cloyes-Chupa going into the final round and ultimately won in a two-hole playoff. With this victory, Hardyman joins an elite group of athletes with over 100 career wins. May, known as the MP80 GOAT, secured his 15th PDGA Major win at the Tim Selinske Masters, solidifying his place as one of the most successful players in Major history. His love for the sport and humble attitude make him a true inspiration to others.
