Behind The Shield: Reinventing Our Game

​ ​At Discmania, we stand by our motto “Reinvent Your Game.” We have some exciting updates on the horizon and we want to give our loyal Discmaniacs a sneak peek with our new series, Behind The Shield. But before we look ahead, let’s take a moment to reflect on our journey so far. In 2017, Discmania was experiencing rapid growth and we needed to make significant changes to keep up with demand and provide top-quality discs to our expanding community. However, our ideas and inventory needs were outpacing the capabilities of our single manufacturing source. To overcome this obstacle, we formed new partnerships to expand our business network and bring our concepts to life. This led to the launch of our Originals, Evolution, and Active lines, with the goal of offering Discmania products to a wider range of disc golfers than ever before. These decisions and partnerships not only helped us navigate through the challenges of 2020, but also allowed us to reach new heights in the years that followed. Fast forward to today, and our separate lines have lost their direction and identity. That’s why we have made the decision to discontinue our Active Line. While it was originally intended as an entry point for new players, it has evolved into a high-performance line, causing confusion in our messaging and branding. Instead of trying to redefine the Active Line, we have decided to say goodbye and offer our remaining inventory at discounted prices. So if you’re a fan of the Sensei, now is the time to stock up! We want to thank all of our customers who have supported the Active Line over the years and helped us keep the Shield strong. But with the departure of the Active Line, we see an opportunity to focus on our Evolution Line. This will be our premier lineup for players looking to improve their game. We have noticed a growing number of Discmaniacs who discover us after their first experiences with disc golf and are looking for that “extra something” to take their game to the next level. The Evolution Line will offer a select range of discs that are easy to understand and will grow with the player as they advance in skill. So what does this mean for our discs? The Evolution Line will be streamlined, with the following molds remaining in the family: Notion, Link, Logic, Origin, Essence, Function, and Paradigm. These discs cover all levels of play, from beginner to advanced, and will continue to provide the high-quality performance that Discmania is known for.
