Innova’s Straightest Shooters – Putters, Mids, Fairways, and Drivers

The straight shot is arguably the most valuable and challenging throw in disc golf. Mastering this shot can make narrow gaps in the woods feel wider, keep your disc in bounds on open courses, and increase your chances of hitting the chains on the green. Achieving this level of precision requires practice, an understanding of release angles, and the right discs. Look no further than Innova’s selection of straight-flying discs to elevate your game.

Distance Drivers
When it comes to maximum distance, a straight-flying driver is the holy grail for disc golfers. While shaping a shot with a distance driver typically requires more space than a mid-range or putter, the following molds can achieve impressive distances with minimal turn or fade.

Charger
For players with moderate-to-fast arm speed, the Charger is the go-to for a straight-flying driver. Keep your release low and on a touch of hyzer for a laser beam line similar to Vinny’s with his Destroyers.

Tern
When thrown on a hyzer flip line, the Tern is the straightest-flying driver in its class. Despite being understable, the Tern will flip up to flat and maintain a straight flight for an impressive distance.

Gorgon
The Gorgon is the perfect all-around straight flyer. It offers the control of a fairway driver with the distance of a high-speed driver. If you find the Star Gorgon to be too overstable, try the GStar or Pro versions.

Roadrunner
Don’t be fooled by its understable rating – the Roadrunner is one of our straightest 9-speed discs. When released on a hyzer, it can navigate even the tightest fairways with ease. Just ask World Champion Gregg Barsby.

Fairway Drivers
For long, straight shots in wooded areas, fairway drivers are your best bet. They offer impressive distance without requiring as much space as a distance driver.

TL3
Surprisingly straight for an 8-speed, the TL3 has the neutral flight of a mid-range with the rim width of a distance driver. It’s the perfect choice for tight fairways.

Leopard3
The Leopard3 is a highly controllable disc right out of the box. Release it on a flat or slight hyzer for a flight that stays on target. Just ask Ohn Scoggins, who can demonstrate the Leopard3’s capabilities.

Mid-Ranges
At lower speeds, it’s easier to throw straight if you start with the right disc. These mid-range discs are perfect for attacking longer, straight holes where a skip at the end could be risky.

Mako3
It’s no surprise that the Mako3 is a popular choice among disc golfers. This versatile disc can handle both power and finesse, making it perfect for achieving a straight flight.

Wombat3
For a one-disc round in the woods, the Wombat3 is our top recommendation. Its neutral flight makes it a unique addition to your bag without replacing any of your existing discs.
