Discmania proudly presents the European Open, our PDGA Major event! Top disc golfers from around the world gather in Tampere and Nokia, Finland for a chance to win the prestigious European Open Championship Trophy. As Europe’s largest and most esteemed tournament, the European Open continues to grow and impress. Our team is dedicated to providing an unforgettable experience for players, on-site spectators, and those watching from home. The competition kicks off on July 18th at Nokia DiscGolfPark, where players can expect top-notch course maintenance, designated spectator areas, and a European Open Pro Shop both in-person and online.
We at Discmania take great pride in hosting one of the most highly anticipated international disc golf events. This year, we are excited to announce that the European Open will also be held at Tampere Disc Golf Center for the first time ever. This championship-level course offers a challenging mix of wooded and meadow fairways, as well as elevation changes that will test the skills of our elite players. The tournament will conclude with a final round at Nokia on the renowned “Beast” layout. For the 9th time, the European Open Champion will be crowned on the 18th green of the Beast, with thousands of spectators in attendance. Both venues offer excellent views of the top athletes, as well as a variety of services and activities in the vendor village, including food, games, and exclusive European Open merchandise at the Pro Shop.
Our team at Discmania is ready to make this year’s European Open the best one yet. We are thrilled to have the #1 disc golfer, Gannon Buhr, joining us for his first trip to Europe and first European Open. With his impressive track record of winning PDGA Majors, Gannon is determined to add the European Open to his list of victories. Niklas Anttila, the Nordic Phenom, will also be competing on his home turf. As the reigning and 3-time Finnish National Champion and a Tampere native, Niklas has the advantage of course knowledge and is determined to bring the Champion title back to Finland. Kyle Klein, who came in second place in 2023 by just 1 stroke, is back with a vengeance. With his experience on The Beast and a Major victory under his belt, the USDGC Champion is determined to claim his second PDGA Major title.
Join us for the 2024 European Open and witness the excitement and skill of the world’s top disc golfers as they compete for the coveted European Open Championship Trophy. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable event!
