Henna and Eveliina Make 2024 Turku Open Podium

​ ​The European leg of the Disc Golf Pro Tour is showcasing a fresh crop of talented athletes, providing both US Touring Pros and DGN viewers with the opportunity to witness some of the most picturesque disc golf destinations in the world. The recent Turku Open in Finland was a highly competitive and entertaining event, on par with any US Tour event this year. Among the top 10 finishers were several new names, as well as two familiar Innova players who landed on the podium. Finnish superstars Eveliina Salonen and Henna Blomroos took 2nd and 3rd place respectively, impressing with their exceptional tee shots. #1 ranked Eveliina Salonen had a slow start in Turku, but quickly picked up momentum in the second round, scoring 4 birdies in the first 5 holes and finishing the day with a hot -8. Despite challenging conditions in the final round, Eveliina maintained her composure and secured 2nd place, just two strokes behind the leader. She dominated in Fairway Hits, C1 and C2 Hits in Regulation, and Strokes Gained Tee to Green, currently holding the 2nd spot in the 2024 Disc Golf Pro Tour World standings, less than 3 points behind 1st place. While Eveliina has been a top contender in the FPO division for years, her performance in 2024 has elevated her to a new level. Henna Blomroos, known for her impressive drives, started the Turku Open with a bang, shooting a -6 back nine that remained unmatched throughout the weekend. She finished in 3rd place, her third podium finish of the season. Henna led the field in Parked percentage and was 2nd in C1 and C2 Hits in Regulation and Strokes Gained Tee to Green. Team Innova also had strong showings in the FPO and MPO divisions, with Anneli Tõugjas-Männiste tying for 6th place in her second-ever DGPT Elite Event and Niilo Hongisto tying for 5th place in his second-ever DGPT event. Anneli led the field in C1x Putting and Strokes Gained C1x, while Niilo impressed with a 121-foot throw-in for birdie on hole 4 in the final round. Joona Heinänen also had a standout performance, matching his best-ever DGPT result and showcasing his skills on the course.
