Scoggins Putts Lights Out at 2024 Beaver State Fling

​ ​The 2024 Beaver State Fling presented by Innova promised magic, and it certainly delivered. The final round was a thrilling back-and-forth battle between Team Innova’s Ohn Scoggins and Holyn Handley, resulting in a playoff for the FPO title. While Ohn ultimately came in second place, her performance continued Team Innova’s streak of having an FPO player on the podium at every DGPT event this season. In the MPO division, Calvin Heimburg set a new course record in his opening round and finished tied for 4th place overall. From the DGPT podium to the Masters World Championship, Ohn Scoggins showcased her expert putting skills at the Beaver State Fling. Despite losing in the playoff, Ohn led the field in C1x putting at an impressive 97% and had the longest average putt and highest total putting distance. Her Strokes Gained Putting was more than double the next highest in the field, solidifying her dominance on the green. Ohn is currently in 2nd place in the DGPT World Standings and is a top contender at the Masters World Championship this week. In the opening round, Calvin Heimburg set a new course record with a 1081-rated, -12 performance. He finished the event tied for 4th place and led the field in Strokes Gained Tee to Green and C1 Hits in Regulation. He currently sits in 3rd place in the DGPT Point Standings for 2024. Other notable performances from Team Innova include Holly Finley’s epic ace on hole 13 with her Mako, and Kat Mertsch’s consistent play, finishing tied for 14th place. With her ace, Holly led the field in Strokes Gained C1x, while Kat is currently in 9th place in the DGPT World Standings. The Beaver State Fling is a favorite tournament for many players, and this year’s event certainly lived up to the hype.
