Team Innova is on fire as Ohn Scoggins makes disc golf history at the recent PDGA tournament. She set a new record for the highest ever FPO event rating, averaging 1029-rated through three rounds and beating the 2nd place finisher by 11 strokes. In the MPO division, Calvin Heimburg finished in 3rd place after a final round that kept him in contention for the win until the very end. With two FPO victories in just three events, Team Innova is off to a dream start in the 2024 season. Scoggins’ impressive performance included a -13 in the second round, which is tied for the 5th highest single round rating in FPO history. She also had a 1042-rated final round, making her the only player to shoot two of the three highest rated FPO rounds in the past three seasons in the same tournament. Scoggins led the field in several categories, including Fairway Hits, Parked percentage, C2 Hits in Regulation, C2 putting, and Strokes Gained Tee to Green. Her putting in the final two rounds was particularly noteworthy. This was Scoggins’ first standard DGPT victory, adding to her previous wins at the Mid America Open and DGLO. She is also a 3-time Masters World Champion and two-time Tim Selinske US Masters Champion. The only achievement missing from her impressive list of accomplishments is a Major title in the FPO division. This weekend, Scoggins will compete in the United States Women’s Disc Golf Championship, the first PDGA Major of the year. With her current momentum and skill, she is a top contender for the title. Scoggins’ likable personality and positive attitude on the course make her a fan favorite and a role model for other players. Her fellow FPO competitors are happy to see her succeed, making her a valuable member of the Innova family. Meanwhile, Heimburg’s final round performance at the Open at Austin was a nail-biter, with fans on the edge of their seats until the very end. He shot a 1072-rated, -10 round that kept him in the race for the win until the final hole. Although he ultimately finished in 3rd place, Heimburg’s impressive play and determination make him a force to be reckoned with in future tournaments.
