New Name on Tour – Calvin Lonnquist

​ ​Get ready to hear a lot more about Calvin Lonnquist in the coming months and years as he embarks on his rookie season. At just 18 years old, Calvin is already making a name for himself in the world of disc golf, fueled by his passion for the sport and his dedication to improving his game. Despite only playing for less than four years, Calvin has set ambitious goals for himself, including a full US tour this year and a spot in the 2024 Pro Tour Championship. Check out his impressive Thunderbird ace in the Instagram post below! Calvin’s rapid improvement in his relatively short time playing disc golf is almost unheard of. His rating has steadily climbed from under 930 in March 2021 to an impressive 1017 as of October last year. In September 2023, Calvin won his first A-tier tournament, the Lake Superior Open in Superior, Wisconsin. This was a significant achievement, considering that he had competed in the same event the year before and finished in 26th place. Calvin’s progress can be attributed to his dedication to practicing on the course. He plays 3-4 rounds a day and takes 300-500 putts, proving that hard work pays off. 2024 marks Calvin’s first year on Team Innova, and his love for the game and determination to improve make him the perfect fit for our up-and-coming pro players. It’s every disc golfer’s dream to be a part of Team Innova, as it is the best company in the sport, with the most influence and the best discs.
